April Tulip month
Thinking of the best time of the year to travel to my home country, there is one month that immediately comes to mind: April, tulip month!
The most beautiful time to visit the Netherlands, is when the world famous Keukenhof opens its doors and more than 7 million tulip bulbs are spread out over 32 colorful hectares.
Sure, the weather can be chilly in April, but nothing beats the first view of rows and rows of tulips, a sight that never loses its magic, no matter how many times you see it. In April, you also have the chance to be part of some special events, such as the beautiful Bloemencorso (Flower parade), this year on Saturday April 13. In this article, I will share my tips with you for a fantastic trip to Keukenhof.

Keukenhof will open at the beginning of spring on the 21st of March 2019 until the 19th of May 2019. This year, Keukenhof will open its doors for the 70th time. The theme this year is Flower Power!
1)Keukenhof ticket with transport from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
If you want to travel to Keukenhof directly from Schiphol airport, you can take the Keukenhof Express. This is a non stop bus service, that brings you directly from Schiphol to the Keukenhof entrance in about 35 minutes, depending on traffic. You can find the bus stop outside the Arrivals hall 4 (near Starbucks).
A round trip ticket costs 10 Euro and can be purchased on the bus. You can save money by buying a combi-ticket for 25 Euro including entrance fee (value 18 Euro). Children price is 13,50 Euro. If you’re on Schiphol airport on a stopover, you can store your suitcase on the airport: Schiphol luggage storage. Bear in mind that the Keuken Express is a regular bus service, not a touring car, therefore luggage space on the bus is very limited. Also, buses are very popular and it’s not very relaxed to carry your luggage in the crowded buses.
2)Keukenhof ticket with transport from Amsterdam
The easiest way to visit Keukenhof from Amsterdam, is on a Keukenhof ticket including transport by luxury coach from Amsterdam City Center.
